This is book is Deep Dark, and Dangerous By Mary Downing Hahm. This book was written in May 21st 2007. The gernre of this book is mystery, horror, ghosts etc. Yes, this book did win a award, a literary award. Grand Canyon Reader Award for Intermediate Book in 2009. This book has 192 page. Also, it took about a week to read it. The main characters in this story is Ali, Claire, Dulcie, Emma and Sissy. And a supporting character is their mom and dad. The setting is in the summer time, down at the campground. It was Ali's mom's old summer home where they would stay mostly all summer long.

As i said, the story takes place at Ali's mom's old camp up in Maine. They used to spend summers up there where they'd relax and what not. The protagonist is Ali and Sissy because they are the REAL main characters. They are mostly all about the story. Also, the bad guy in this story is Sissy. Because sissy is lies and tells fibs. Ali is 13 years old, and finds a picture of something weird in her attic that she has never seen before. Sissy is always talking about someone named Teresa. Also Sissy.. who’s mean and spiteful a bad influence on Emma. So, the choice she makes is that she wants to find out who is in the picture. Also, she wants to find out who sissy is. The antagonoist in the story is, Sissy. Sissy gets Ali in trouble because Sissy is telling All's little sister lies and making up stuff.The other characters in this story is, her mom, Clarie, Aunt Dulcie and Emma which is aunt Dulcie's child. Those are the characters in this story.

The theme in this book is based on ghosts. In this book, there is a great weird ghost. The message the author trying to communicate is that Ali should of listened to her mom by saying the lake is a bad place, because bad things happen there. The characters in this story help to convey the author's message because by the way they were talking you were something was going to happen.I believe the characters in this story did not make any decisions i didn't have a problem with. I would have done the same exact thing. The actions in this book is very detailed so when something happens you'll know exactly how they're feeling.

This book I really enjoyed it. I like waiting for something to happen, and that's what it does. It works you up thinking what's happening next, but it never does. This book is VERY detailed so you could most likely picture everything in your head. Which is very convient. It was a mystery. And while you were reading it it would get better as you go along. What I did not like about this book is, really nothing. I most likely liked everything about it.

Deep Dark and Dangerous, is a very detailed and mesmerizing. If i were to tell someone to read this i'd explain everything in great detail. I believe that in my opinion of this book i would want some of my friends to read this. If i liked it then they most likely will.
